Privacy policy

Wrimote collects no data. Here is what that means for the apps and for this website.

Effective 1 November 2026

The short version

  • The apps collect no data and do no tracking.
  • No analytics, no ads and no accounts.
  • The apps make no network requests of their own.
  • Bluetooth is used only between your watch and a nearby computer running Wrimote. Your computer accepts input only from a watch you allowed.
  • The iPhone app collects no data either. The only thing it sends is your trial and Wrimote Pro status, from your iPhone to your paired watch, on your own devices.
  • This website uses no cookies, no analytics and nothing from third parties.

Who we are

Wrimote is made by XpressOT Pty Ltd, a company in Australia (“we” and “us”). This policy covers Wrimote for iPhone and Apple Watch, Wrimote for Mac, Wrimote for Windows (a test version) and this website, wrimote.com.

Questions about privacy go to support@wrimote.com.

What we collect

Nothing. The apps don’t collect, store, sell or share any information about you. There are no analytics, no advertising, no tracking and no accounts.

If you’ve chosen to share analytics with app developers in your iPhone or Apple Watch settings, Apple sends us crash reports and overall usage numbers, such as how many people opened the app. Apple collects and handles these, and we can’t tell who they come from.

The iPhone app, the watch app and the Mac app each include a privacy manifest, the file Apple uses to record what an app collects. All three declare no tracking and no data collected.

Bluetooth

Your watch and your Mac or PC talk directly over Bluetooth LE. None of it goes over the internet, through your iPhone or through any server, and none of it reaches us.

Your iPhone and your watch

The iPhone app is where you start the free trial, unlock Wrimote Pro and get help setting up. It collects no data, and it doesn’t use Bluetooth or take part in your input.

The only thing it sends is your trial and Wrimote Pro status: whether you own Wrimote Pro, when your trial started, and the App Store’s price for Wrimote Pro in your country, so the watch can show it. It sends this from your iPhone to your paired watch over WatchConnectivity, Apple’s system for an iPhone app to talk to its watch app. It goes only to your own watch and never reaches us.

What stays on your devices

To work, the apps keep a few things on your own devices. None of it is sent to us.

Purchases

The free trial and Wrimote Pro come through the App Store, and Apple processes every payment. You start the trial and buy Wrimote Pro in the iPhone app. We don’t see your name, email address or payment details, and Apple doesn’t give us personal information about buyers.

To check whether you’ve started the trial or bought Wrimote Pro, the iPhone app and the watch app ask the App Store through Apple’s own purchase system. Apple handles that check under its privacy policy.

This website

This site is a set of static pages. It sets no cookies and uses no analytics, tracking or advertising, and no third-party fonts, scripts or embeds.

The site is hosted by Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel processes the technical details needed to deliver a page, such as your IP address and browser type, and may keep them briefly in server logs for security and reliability. We don’t use them to identify you.

If you email us

When you email support@wrimote.com, we receive your email address and whatever you include, such as a Windows log file. Our email provider stores messages for us. We use them only to reply to you. We don’t share them with anyone else or add you to a mailing list, and we delete them when they’re no longer needed. You can ask us to delete them at any time.

If you ask us to tell you when Wrimote is out, we keep your email address only to send you that one email. We delete it after launch, or sooner if you ask.

Vercel and our email provider may handle this information outside Australia, including in the United States.

Removing your data

Everything the apps keep is on your own devices. Here is how to remove it.

Children

Wrimote collects no personal information from anyone, including children.

Your rights

Because the apps collect nothing, we hold no personal information about you from them. If you’ve emailed us, you can ask to see, correct or delete what we hold. If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

If you’re in the European Union or the United Kingdom, we handle your emails because you asked us to reply (our legitimate interest in answering you), and you can also complain to your local data protection authority.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we’ll update it on this page and change the effective date. If a change means Wrimote would collect any data, we’ll say so clearly here before that happens.
